I am a 22 year old male with a genetic disorder called stickler syndrome. it increases my risk for detached retinas, and i had 5 since i was born. i recently took up weight lifting, and was wondering if this is safe given my high risk for detachment?

Weight lifting would not be ideal in your circumstances, not just for increasing the risk for eye complications, but for the possible effect on joints. Best to advise would be the doc who diagnosed you or the one currently treating you. Having an exercise routine adjusted by a personal trainer and accounting for your condition would be best.
