A member asked:

If i dont want to go to a pregnancy center, when should the at home pregnancy tests be accurate enough to stop testing? i am trying to rule out if i had my period or implantation bleeding?

If your bleeding came on time for your period then the home pregnancy test (first morning urine) should be negative with no need for further testing. If you are feeling particularly paranoid repeat it in a week.

Conception occurs within day or so of the sex. It takes about 3 weeks for the embryo to make enough HCG for a positive pregnancy test. Blood test may be done a day after a missed period. Home pregnancy tests should be done 4-5 days after the missed period. If the result is negative repeat the test in 4-5 days. Use first morning urine and follow instructions for the test carefully.
