Is the diagnosis of UTI confirmed? UTIs are rare in males your age. If discharge from the penis (with or without painful urination), it is urethritis, almost always due to STD (gonorrhea, chlamydia, or nongonococcal urethritis), sometimes misdiagnosed as UTI. Ciprofloxacin is not reliable against any of these. If true UTI, you have a bacteria resistant to cipro. Return to your doctor.
