Ovarian cysts are very, very common and rarely are symptomatic, and when they do cause pain it is normally not referred to the groin specifically. It is unlikely that what you are describing has anything to do with your ovary, and you need to consider the possibility of a hernia as well as a simple strain. Consult your doctor if your symptoms continue and/or worsen.

The history of 'lifting' objects a day earlier suggest it is more likely a muscle/ tendon Strain of the groin and /or back, rather than ovarian cyst as cause. Simple Cold/ Hot Compress treatment with OTC Pain/ Anti-inflammatory agents like Aleve, or Ibuprofen could help. But if symptoms persist a visit with the PCP will help define the issues and proffer treatment/ management.
