I had mono at age 2-3 years old. i have noticed a trend of increased monocytes over the last 4+ years. could a case of mono 35 years ago be causing this ? (so a nurse at my dr office is saying) or could it be something else ?

All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, it would have helped had you provided the actual results. Wish you good health!
