A member asked:

Finally found my lh peak this afternoon. is it possible that ovulation occurs fast, within a few hours or is it always at least after 24 hours?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

The "LH peak" (or "surge") precedes actual release of a mature egg and occurs in 24-48 hours prior to an egg being available for fertilization. If fertility is an issue, and six months have passed without pregnancy, ask your GYN physician about a hystero-salpingo-gram (HSG), as blocked tubes are the most (statistically) common cause of infertility.
