I have been taking ativan .75 for 5 weeks and want to start to wean off. is it possible that i am already dependent and that my withdrawal symptoms may be severe? is there a proper way to wean? thank you?

make sure you do not have an illness that need to treat to the root cause of your anxiety issue. Ativan should NEVER BE GIVEN WITHOUT a med that treats your issue to the root cause: that med takes many weeks to work then your body does not need Ativan to temporarily calm you down anymore. Whenever a doc gives you a pill: always ask if it treats the symptoms or the cause of the problem.
