You are exhibiting vasodilation ( dilation of tiny blood vessels) in your face during those times. Generally the flushing doesn't last hours though. You're too young for hot flashes. Change in blood pressure, alcohol,spicy foods, certain medications, exercise are possible explanations. I doubt hormonal disorders such as carcinoid,Cushing's syndrome,pheochromocytoma, hyperthyroidism are likely.

When one notices unusual facial flushing, it merits a visit to one's doctor. There are numerous potential causes, some of which are rare cancers which cause symptoms by secreting substances triggering flushing. One such rare cancer, called a Carcinoid tumor, can cause flushing and diarrhea. Facial flushing is usually not due to a cancer...but it's important to be sure.
