A member asked:

If pep failed at preventing hiv. how long after pep would seroconversion occur? would symptoms be weaker than they wouldve been without pep or would they be typical full on ars symptoms? how much more risk is there for uncircumzised vs circumsized?

Exact data do not exist. Most experts say 6 weeks after last PEP dose but some recommend 3 months. Symptoms rarely are useful indicators of ARS: most ARS has no symptoms, and most symptoms do not actually indicate ARS, even if "typical". Only testing is useful. When symptoms occur, they are no different with or without PEP. Being uncircumcised only slightly raises risk for any single exposure.
