I was told to use flonase for six weeks by my ent for swollen turbinates. i have been using it for a week with no success so far. what is the typical time it takes for flonase to start working? i have no polyps or sinus infection?

It takes an average of 3 days to notice any benefit from nasal steroids. Failure to improve may mean you retain irritating material inside the nose and a nasal washout with a neti pot or similar system. You are trying to get the upper hand on irritants but these need to be removed & avoided to gain the best outcome.

Although you may have some relief sooner, I usually recommend at least 2 weeks to see if helping at all. Depending on how long your issue has been there, it may take some time. If it's still not helping at all after that time, I would speak to your ENT again for other options for treatment. I also agree re: reducing possible allergens.
