A member asked:

I had a heart ct scan and one of the reading is there are 2 small sclerotic foci within the sternum and they both measure 7 mm in diameter. my question is what does that mean? it was recommended to have a bone scan any suggestions?

The sclerotic foci in your sternum are too small to worry about them. Unless you have some local symptoms such as pain or swelling, there is no need to do a Bone scan. Bone scan would be reasonable in someone with a prior history of Breast Cancer. Otherwise this finding can be left alone at this time. Such foci in the bones are benign and require no follow up testing.
