Most of the time, a dose of 1 pill of fluconazole will not have a significant effect while taking sulfamethoxazole, but it IS important that your doctor knows that you’re taking both medications at once because some patients may be at risk of a side effect affecting the heart. Your doctor - who knows your whole health history - is the best person to decide whether to take both together.
