Herpes infections are activation of the virus from usual stressful conditions (emotional, nutritional , trauma, etc.) and are designated into oral and genital types ( I and II). HSV is extremely contagious, and can be from early exposure and not necessarily from sexual contact. The IgG level indicates long term antibody formation, without specific time of initial infection.
