Severity: He may have flu like illness including influenza or COVID 19. I would recommend seeing a physician for severe headache. If the headache improves with Tylenol and is associated with other symptoms such as congestion, treat his symptoms and observe for 24 hours, Keep him well hydrated. Several possible...: Most likely this is a viral illness, including possibly Covid19. The other diagnosis that comes to mind in this age group with these symptoms is strep throat. Often kids this age will get these type symptoms first and a sore throat a few days later. Would get him tested for Covid, strep, influenza and mono. If strep is positive, will need antibiotics. Otherwise, needs just supportive cares.
