A member asked:

Index finger twitch is contingent on wrist flexion and/or tightly gripping hand. rarely happens with "normal" use of hand. what nerve is implicated, and will it go away in time?

In your case this appears to be a harmless nuisance rather than indicative of a neurological disorder like Parkinson's disease,ALS,etc. Apparently those maneuvers cause irritability of the median nerve or its branch leading to your index finger as you don't experience this symptom on other occasions. A neurologist or a hand specialist can advise you further if you still have concerns.
