Could antibiotics cause a rash 2 weeks after finishing them? i finished a course of strong antibiotics on october 2, and a couple hives on my stomach, arms, and back formed around october 10th. i am taking prednisone and it seems to reduce them?

You did not say the name of the medication, however if the medication has a long half life and predisposes to photosensitivity that may be possible if you had sun exposure because the residue may still be in the skin.

I had an allergic reaction to SMZ/TMP medication. Rash and Hives back, stomach, legs. My Doc gave Prednisone and it helped some. My Doc is putting me on a 2nd round of Prednisone. Is this normal? Shouldn't the first round of Pred have cleared it up.
