Today at my 12 week ob visit my urine showed positive for nitrites so the doctor said she would send it in for a culture. it's friday so is it safe to not treat until early next week? don't want any complications or risk to my baby?

Positive nitrite reaction suggests possible urinary tract infection but requires confirmatory test, urine culture. Positive nitrite without obvious symptoms and signs of UTI, e.g., fever, painful urination, postponing treatment for a few days should not pose a harm to the fetus.
