Some HSV infections (30% of HSV1, probably ~5% for HSV2) never develop positive IgG tests. Some who advise 6 months probably are extending the window to cover some such delayed positive results. The important thing is that your negative results make it very unlikely you have HSV, especially if you have no symptoms. If no symptoms, you should not have been tested anyway. Move on without worry.
