Why does my baby have black and blue eyelids?

Childbirth?: If you are referring to bruising around the eyes at the time of childbirth, this is very common. With a normal delivery, it can still be somewhat traumatic to the baby, and bruising can be seen around the eyes. Usually there is no injury. If you are unsure you can ask your pediatrician, or if this has developed at a later age, an immediate eye examination or discussion with peds is indicated.
