Your apparent high hemoglobin is resulting from the normal response to living at high altitude and may be dehydration. Your results are not a cause for concern. Drink enough water so that your urine is mostly colorless. Wish you good health!

Im a 26 year old male who lives at high altitude in Denver, CO. HGB: 18.3 HCT: 53.1 RBCs 5.9. Is this normal? I tested negative for the JAK2 mutation and my EPO was 8 my hematologist said cause was to living at high altitude?
Pulse is regularly mid-low 50s when sitting or lying down. Had 2 EKGs recently, both came back normal, tho pulse was high during both due to anxiety, not sure if that could impact results. Should I be concerned about the low pulse?
