Was taking wellbutrin and lexapro together.. unhappy with lexapro weight gain so tapered off now just on wellbutrin. will my body act as if i just started wellbutrin due to the absence of lexapro?

I think if welbutrin has been on board long enough it'll remain therapeutic for you. I'd be somewhat relieved that you're no longer taking lexapro as well because of potentially severe interactions. However it's always best to follow the instructions and advice of your treating physician who knows your past and present mental status the best.
