If this type of cramping is limited to only that particular muscle, we don't have to worry about any systemic or widespread neurological disorders. I think that isolated muscle goes into a mild transient irritability or spasm when it contracts & then begins to relax. We see this occurring with thumb cramping, calf cramping,for example,with certain motions also. A neurologist could reassure you.
