I had an ultrasound so went with a full bladder as asked however when they asked me to empty my bladder i couldnt go and had to push it out since id been holding it in for a while, is this unusual?

Being unable to pass urine in a stressful circumstance is not usual. If you are otherwise able to void comfortably, you may ignore this instance. Wish you good health!

Urination can be affected by circumstances and stress. Some people cant void on command or at unfamiliar places- so no it is not unusual
