Ive recently had a ct and the report has come back with minor subpleural interstitial stranding at the dependent lung bases likely hypostatic changes. can someone translate?

The most important info that you should provide us is, why the CT scan was done? If it was done to check for infection in the lung such as pneumonia or bronchitis then you can ignore these changes which are all quite minor right now. Hypostatic changes means the person may have been bed ridden and not able to clear out any mucus, normal secre by coughing. Your ordering doctor can further explain

All imaging results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, the results you provided are not a cause for concern. Wish you good health!
