It is possible if the HSV contained saliva is landing on the open wound and saliva with an infected person during an outbreak is more infectious than saliva from a person with latent HSV infection.

About half of the people your age have already been infected with HSV 1 and the only symptom may be occasional cold sore. Even if you are not already infected, what you described is unlikely to transmit HSV-1 Wish you good health!
