Root canal therapy on a wisdom tooth is not necessary. Personally, I'd have it removed.

I'd vote for removal, unless there are occlusal reasons to save the tooth. Please know opposing tooth may also have to be removed to prevent overgrowth. Your Dentist can advisenyou after examining your occlusion.
