A member asked:

Can covid contribute to an outbreak of ulcers in the mouth and on the genitals?

The ulcers may not be due to covid, because it is not typical, however the fact that you have covid may have stressed your immunity and allow recrudence of herpes if you had it previously even if it was asymptomatic. There are other viruses that could also cause ulcers, you may want to see a medical provider to evaluate you so that appropriate diagnosis and management could be instituted.

No. COVID does not do this. By far the most common cause of multiple ulcers in the genital area is genital herpes, and not infrequently people can acquire HSV in both the genital and oral areas, depending on their sexual exposures. Get professional care ASAP: both the accuracy of diagnosis and effectiveness of treatment depend on very prompt action. Good luck.
