Amoxicillin is not known to have pancreatic toxicity and is in general well tolerated. It still can cause side effects like all other drugs, and you should clarify with your prescriber and/or pharmacist.

Amoxicillin is the right antibiotic for your infection. Contact your PCP for advice on this medication. As a dentist you should have a root canal to save the tooth if possible, or have it extracted, you can't live on antibiotics.

Amoxicillin is excellent antibiotic to reduce severity and spread of oral infections, but will not cure an abscessed tooth. That requires root canal/crown or extraction/implant/crown. Once you stop antibiotics infection will again worsen. Check with Dentist/Physician/Pharmacist.
