Vaso-occlusive crisis (pain crisis) in individuals with sickle cell disease is often triggered by hypoxemia, dehydration, hyper- or hypothermia. It'a not clear whether sexual activity precipitates vaso-occlusive event or not.

For one thing,I would consult a urologist with experience in treating males with sickle cell anemia to educate you on preventative and treatment measures regarding priapism. You may have to call a department of urology in a.university hospital near you to reach such a specialist. I'm not sure that you should alter your sex drive. You could speak to someone at a.men's sexual health clinic though.
