You definitely need to see a doctor to find out why you are bleeding for so long and to treat it. You also need to find out if you have a low blood count (anemia). You may need some iron and vitamin C supplements to help you make more red blood cells. But, first, the bleeding needs to be controlled. If you are feeling light-headed, short of breath, have chest pain-go to an ER now! Good luck!

Heavy and prolonged bleeding can be related to potential pregnancy outside the uterus, so see your GYN physician for an exam and guidance, as well as a serum HCG test to rule out ectopic pregnancy, and ultrasound to rule out uterine pathology (fibroid tumors, polyps).
