Getting 7-9 hours of sleep is ideal to manage certain hormone levels that control blood pressure. Long not interrupted sleep, lowers blood pressure. Sleep apnea and interrupted sleep causes a rise in blood pressure. The faster you fall asleep and stay asleep, than your pressure will start to decrease.
