Can a mammographer read breast images? do they know how?

Mammographers are trained to get the best images they can in the process. Many learn much over time and can find areas suspicious. However, it is considered unethical for the technicians to provide their interpretation of these studies. That role is left to the Radiologist or breast specialist who has the additional training in interpretation that techs do not.
