I assume you're referring to a sporadic twitching of a skeletal muscle. This is usually caused by an irritable superficial nerve or muscle & is not a serious issue. It often resolves. If it happens often and in scattered areas of the body, deficiency of calcium,magnesium or electrolyte imbalance is checked for.
