I had a small common wart on my finger, i have treated several times and it came back, it has been gone for about 6 months. i avoid touching anything in fear of spreading it, can i let go of that fear or should i remain cautious?

There is little or no chance you can infect others at this point. The HPV infection that caused you wart probably is gone, or at least completely suppressed by your immune system, and cannot infect others. In addition, most people you meet will have had their own infections with the same HPV type (HPV1 is the main cause of common wart), and are immune to catching it again. I wouldn't worry at all.
