Provera can increase the risk of deep vein thrombosis, less likely cause the blood clot in your heart chamber we want to prevent in patient with chronic a. fib. Your bleeding needs to be stopped by med or D&C before blood thinner can be used if it turns out you need chronic anticoagulant. Benefit vs risk, you should take provera to stop bleeding first.

If you have what is considered lone A Fib and being a young female you'd be considered a low risk for blood clots and many clinicians would not recommend your taking anticoagulants. However, being on provera increases the predisposition to forming clots. While I would recommend anticoagulants for you while in A Fib,you should follow the advice of your team of MD's who have access to all your info
