A member asked:

In usa, is it possible to have a doppler abdominal scan that will look at all abdominal vessels it can, rather than separately? can a scan be ordered that will look at portal, splenic, mesenteric and renal veins (and arteries) in one sitting?

That is possible. But you’re not going to be ordering that yourself, so I’d suggest you discuss your concerns with a local physician so that they can guide you to the right diagnostic test for what ails you.

An ultrasound is typically a focused exam and is limited due to the anatomy of the body. The vessels mentioned lie in opposite areas of the abdomen. A CT angiogram would be a better study to see a vessel tract and patency
