A member asked:

Is a vertigo indicates something very serious with the brain? i've been told i've an infection inside my ear which caused me dizziness. how serious is this?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

True vertigo has many causes, and is classified as peripheral, inner ear, and central, brain. But vertigo can occur with blood pressure variations, dehydration, anemia, thyroid problems, blood sugar variations, etc. Not feasible to comment on "how serious" based on limited information in your post. A better and more comprehensive approach is via a virtual consult (www.connect@healthtap.com)
