Baby is 6 weeks old and was started on nutramigen due to blood in stool secondary to suspected milk protein allergy since one week. there is still some blood and mucus at times. the poop is also grey once and baby also lost few ounces. help?

Please discuss stool and liver function testing with your Pediatrician.A CF screening test is recommended. Infections may also cause blood and mucus in the stool. The loss of weight is concerned since babies should gain weight each day. Ensure that the baby is feeding every 3 to 4 hours. Watch for signs of fever and vomiting.
