So my dad only filled his pool only half way. the pool water is not filtered. so the water is stagnant. he is however cleaning the sides with a rag and testing and using chemicals. is the water safe children to play in? bacteria? unfiltered 6 wks?

Needs proper testing of pH etc and chlorine added. May be better to drain clean and refill and readjust but perhosp your Dad knows what he is doing and has been doing it for a long time. Time for you to learn as well.
