A member asked:

I know constipation can cause bloating and gas/belching, but can it also cause heartburn in people who already deal with acid reflux issues?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Constipation can make acid reflux worse. If you are overweight, losing weight is imperative. For constipation- You may take a fiber laxative like Metamucil and drink enough water daily so that your urine is colorless. For the long term you may try to increase your intake of fiber foods. Consult this site for fiber foods. http://www.mayoclinic.org/healthy-lifestyle/nutrition-and-healthy-eating/in-d
