Your symptoms are not due to folic acid deficiency. The only effect of folic acid deficiency is anemia (low Hemoglobin). So tell us about your hemoglobin level and ask your doctor to provide you some explanation about your breathing difficulty. If you are under stress or acute anxiety you may develop symptoms like you have now(numbness, tingling and hyperventilation. Go see a medical doctor(PCP).

If you have documented folate deficiency you may also have Vitamin B12 deficiency. Taking folic acid in the presence of B12 deficiency will make matters worse. You may need injectable B12 in case you absorption is defective. You may try sub-lingual B12. It would be prudent to see a doctor. Wish you good health!
