Sometimes just tilting your head to the affected side & pulling down on earlobe can remove trapped water. You might also try using a hair dryer on low/no heat & low speed held 6 to 8 inches from the ear; again pull on earlobe to straighten the ear canal. Water in the ear can inflame the canal; so, assuming the eardrum isn't broken, using dilute white vinegar drops can calm the irritation

In my experience this scenario is often due to wax in the ear canal becoming moistened. If your symptom persists, have your ear examined for wax buildup and have the wax removed.
