How safe is it to take cymbalta 30 mg for on going pain? is it effective? howbad is the weight gain? can some one have a glass of wine on this medicine?

Cymbalta's starting dose for chronic musculoskeletal pain / fibromyalgia is 30mg/day; max dose is 60mg/day. For neuropathy, starting/max dose is 60mg. Patients with a history of depression or anxiety with chronic pain benefit treating both. Alcohol may enhance side effects, such as psychomotor impairment and liver damage. Weight gain AND loss are reported as rare side effects by the manufacturer

Low dose Cymbalta is safe but will not provide effective pain control for nerve pain as higher dose is advised. Due to side effect of nausea, weight gain is uncommon
