I know the hormonal fluctuations due to the menstrual cycle can affect the lymph nodes near your breasts and under arms. but, can they affect the lymph nodes located elsewhere?

Despite my many years of practice I've never been aware of generalized lymph node enlargement during menses but.my reading mentions that it can occur. As for the armpits, some breast tissue can extend into them and be the cause of discomfort there during periods or with hormonal imbalances.
