What is the actual role of the appendix? does it has immune functions and do people who had it removed have immune problems?

Does not matter: Indications for an appendectomy is not an elective option. When you have appendicitis ave to remove it surgically; otherwise it can rupture, cause peritonitis, sepsis, shock and death. It's considered a vestigial structure by most (had a purpose before we became omnivores). Do not worry about the immune function of your appendix. Just remove it. Your body knows what to do afterwards.
