Then you use alternate antibiotics. Antibiotic resistant strains emerge with many germs over time. Lab testing identifies both which strains are resistant, and which alternate antibiotic (s) would be an effective treatment.

Agree with Dr. Ferguson. About 25% of the people infected with gonorrhea also have other STDs, especially Chlamydia. Make suer to get test for other STDs. Wish you good health!
