I was prescribed 10mg escilatopram. i am afraid of the side effects from the last time i took it. ive been taking half (5mg) for the past two weeks to ease into the 10mg. is it okay to continue taking half? it's working well for me?

If it is working perfectly doe you at 5mg then there is no reason to go up on the dose at this time.

When it comes to mental health, self-advocacy takes on a new level of participation. Understand how you feel without the medication and know how that changes when you take it. Then you should make the decision to take the drug because it imparts a clear benefit compatible with your goals. Doctors are human and can't know how YOU feel or how most meds feel. All they can do is observe your behavior.
