This is a chronic, progressive neurologic disease in which parts of the brain controlling movement are damaged. This leads to a variety of manifestations including tremor, rigidity, difficulty initiating movement, and poor balance. It progresses slowly over time. It primarily affects older persons. Medical treatment is prescribed by neurologists to improve symptoms & quality fo life.
