This might be Reynaud's syndrome, in which arterial spasm temporarily reduces blood flow to fingers or toes, or sometimes the nose, ears, or nipples. It can be set off by colds or stress, but often there is no obvious trigger. Usually harmless, but if it happens repeatedly or lasts a long time, see a doctor to evaluate for underlying health problems. Google it to find lots of information.
