Most likely the object will not cause symptoms and will enter the GI tract. If you experience any symptoms including cough in the next several weeks. please see a physician. Watch for GI upset and cough, wheezing and shortness of breath.

Smaller objects even with sharp edges generally pass through and out of your digestive system within 4 days. Eating stewed okra or similar pithy vegetables will often form a congeal around the object & help it pass. Sharp or unexplained abdominal cramping during the timeframe would deserve close monitoring.
